The Legal Clinic team at the Faculty of Law, Mansoura University, won first place in the mock trial competition within the International Legal Clinics Program

The Legal Clinic team at the Faculty of Law, Mansoura University, won first place in the first stage, second place at the Egyptian university level, and third place at the Middle East level in the mock trial competition within the International Legal Clinics Program in cooperation with the Francophone University Agency “AUF” and the United Nations Office. For training and documentation in the field of human rights for Southwest Asia, the Arab region, the United Nations Office against Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The Faculty of Law of Mansoura University participated in the international competition under the patronage of Professor Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and the leadership of Professor Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi.Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, under the supervision of Professor Walid El-Shenawy, Dean of the College, organized by Professor Hossam El-Din Hassan, and coordinated and trained by M.M. Amani Ali Al-Hadidi, Deputy Director of the Legal Clinic, M.M. Merit Mamdouh Al-Gawahry, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of International Law. The year and the team included students:-
Student Muhammad Muhammad Abd al-Hadi Rizq al-Mahdi, third year English Law, student Saher Bassem Lutfi, third year English Law, student Marwa Azouz al-Sabahi Muhammad al-Alimi, third year English Law, student Tony Naji Magdy Fawzi fourth year English Law.
They participated in the mock trial competition in two stages: - The first stage: preparing a draft law to develop the law for persons with disabilities, and it was passed and the students from the aforementioned international bodies were honored. Then the second stage included the mock trial competition at the University of Jordan in the city of Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on July 8. 2024 to July 12, 2024.
The competition was conducted as follows:
- The first day, corresponding to July 9, 2024, the confrontation between the Faculty of Law, Mansoura University and the University of Beirut, which ended with the victory of Mansoura University.
- The second day, corresponding to July 10, 2024: The confrontation between the Faculty of Law, Mansoura University, and the Faculty of Law, Cairo University, French Language Section, “Sorbonne School of Law in Cairo,” ended with a well-deserved victory for Mansoura University.
The first stage ended with the Legal Clinic team at the Faculty of Law, Mansoura University, leading ahead of all the participating teams by points difference and the judges’ votes. The team was advanced to the semi-finals, and Mansoura University was announced to have obtained the following positions:
1- Third place in the Middle East
2- Second place at the level of Egyptian universities
3- First place in the first stage of the competition
